In short: Frame stage is the last clear view of how a house holds itself up. On Kalkallo jobs the findings that matter most are about load paths, not finish.
A load where it should not be
On a Kalkallo frame in late 2025 we found trusses sitting on internal walls that were never designed to carry them. Those walls have lighter plates and no designed path to the slab. Left as they were, the load would settle into ceilings and door heads.
Bracing on paper only
The same visit turned up walls drawn as bracing walls on the plan with no bracing in them. Bracing is what stops a house racking in wind, and Kalkallo lots on the open plain see plenty of it.
Plates cut for convenience
On a 2026 job a bottom plate in a bracing wall had been cut through without the alternative fixing that keeps it continuous. A trade had needed the gap. The wall still looked fine.
Why frame is the stage to book
Every one of these is a short fix with the walls open and an argument once the plaster is up. That is why frame and handover are the two visits we would never drop.
